For Android Users: Setup & Connection

Health Connect is a Google interface that shares health and fitness data (e.g. steps) between apps. Senseble uses Health Connect to read your step data from other apps/trackers.

  • From Android 14 onwards: part of the system.
  • On Android <14: install via the Google Play Store.
  • Not found? Go to Settings → Apps → search for “Health Connect”.
  • Supported from Android 9 (API 28).
  • After installation, you may need to make it visible in quick or system settings.

Senseble reads steps directly from Health Connect. Connect your tracking app to Health Connect so that your steps count toward the challenge.

Depends on the app/tracker. Usually, you need to allow Health Connect access to steps in the settings of your tracking app.

Tip: Search “Connect Garmin Connect to Health Connect”.

Only steps. No other data is read.

  1. Open Health Connect
  2. Privacy → App permissions
  3. Select Senseble
  4. Disable access to steps

1) Activate the connection

  • Senseble: Profile → Settings → Activity Tracking → Enable Health Connect
  • Health Connect: App permissions → Senseble → Allow all

Senseble not listed? Continue with step 3.

2) Is Health Connect recording steps?

  • Open Health Connect → Data & access → Steps
  • If it shows 0: Is your tracking app connected? Check permissions or restart the device.

3) Reconnect from scratch

  • Delete Senseble → reinstall → log in → open the challenge
  • Tap the red banner at the bottom to reconnect

No. Only one device can actively record steps.

  1. Log into Senseble on the new device
  2. Profile → Settings → Activity Tracking → Step Tracking
  3. Select “Switch to this device”
  4. Activate Health Connect as the data source

Not working? Reinstall → log in → open the challenge → use the red banner.

Health Connect aggregates steps from multiple sources. Senseble reads this total sum. Differences usually occur due to syncing delays or manual steps not being transferred.
